The Romans brought the first vines to the Rhine and Moselle more than 2,000 years ago. These days, there are countless vineyards in 13 wine-growing areas in Germany, with a total of 2,658 individual estates. The ship will be visiting many of these wine-growing areas on this cruise, with professional and entertaining information provided by Ingo Swoboda. The wine tastings will also be rounded off with regional culinary delicacies. Gourmets will enjoy some very special menus – one of which will be created especially for guests of the River Cloud ii by award-winning chef Harald Rüssel. Rüssel gained culinary experience in Michelin-starred kitchens all over the world before earning his own Michelin star at his restaurant, Landhaus St Urban, named after the patron saint of wine growers. What better proof can there be of the connection between kitchen and cellar?
